My partner and I had a very enjoyable dine in experience. The food was good but clearly designed for takeout. However, I must add that any loss in quality is made up for in quantity. I have never received such a large portion at a Thai restaurant, which was preferable for a man such as myself. The atmosphere is quiet and enjoyable. The decor is pleasing, as there are a bazillion plants and a fish tank. Would recommend.
I've been going to Thai Ocean since 1996...it is my favorite Thai restaurant in the greater Seattle area. I have tried many others all over Puget Sound and beyond...never been disappointed, everything on the menu is prepared with care and pleases the palate!
Excellent place to enjoy Thai cuisine!
Great Thai food for small groups. The place is not big for a large party but loves the food
We love Thai Ocean! They have so much range on their menu, and their food is always fresh. Their Phad Thai is the best in Seattle, and their Sweet and Sour Chicken is the perfect balance-it is not too sweet.
Their hot sauce is wonderful too!
My family enjoys Thai Ocean with a variety of spice levels. I prefer very spicy (and they nail it) but even their one star heat is excellent. Every bite has texture and is heavenly.
While we are not dining out at the moment, I did call them and pick up my food all in 20 minutes. Their restaurant is clean, they are enforcing masks, sanitizing, and they have an excellent rating in King County food safety. They have gone above and beyond in their service. Check them out!
The staff were very kind and accomodating when ordering to-go. I ordered the Neau yuang and a two other items. The sauce was inedibly salty, my partner agreed something must have went wrong. The steak's texture was good and flavor fine, but if half the dish is not consumable then I can't rate higher.
Below average Thai food *for Seattle*, but it's in a good location and is open 'late' compared to most other similarly priced restaurants around Greenlake. Good service too even for large parties.
If you dine here, I'd recommend the panang curry. Know that it doesn't include rice by default though. The curry isn't too spicy either - it's barely a kick, and I have low spice tolerance so I thought it was perfect.
Didn't love the pad Thai or pad see ew - both lacked depth of flavor and noodle texture was kind of dry.
Overall, a mediocre Thai spot compared to other options in Seattle (Wallingford in particular), but it's affordable and is a solid meal after a walk around Greenlake.
WATCH OUT for FUNGUS food and 18% gratuity!! Disgusting! Would never go back again!!
We were 3 people in total and ordered one Soup, one Pad Thai, one Green Curry and one Vegetarian Spring Roll with two Thai Ice teas.
First of all, On the menu, it clearly said that there will be 8 pieces of spring rolls and we were given only 6!! We let it go to not make a big deal out of it.
Second, this place doesn’t give rice with their meals and especially who would eat curry without any rice?! So they charged separately for each rice. Be upfront about it if you are not going to serve rice instead of charging separately.
Third, what was absolutely unacceptable was the fact that they charged an additional 18% gratuity on the total bill even though we were only 3 people in total!!!!
Last, but not the least, the tofu in the green curry tasted more rubbery so they probably used old tofu and I am sure of it now since towards the end I found a piece of tofu that had FUNGUS!! I am disgusted that I even ate the curry. Like do you not even check what you are serving and you serve things with fungus?!! Seriously?!
I love Thai food and have been to multiple Thai restaurants but this place has been the worst experience!! Very expensive than other Thai places I have ever eaten at for terrible low quality food and average services. Never going back here again!
The owner and server are so sweet. The food is so tasty and the spicy level is on point asked for 3 stars and it was spicy so places it just on sweet. Ordered to go and we got huge portions see pictures. Only thing we would ask for improvement was for the Phad Kee Mow to have tomatoes. And not but the Phad Thai noodles to stick together. Great food for the cost though! And would go back to eat at the restaurant such cute decorations.
